MDSSC: Winter Flag Football - Week 5

It's late and so I am going to do this quickly. First though... It's been a while since I did any self promotion. I am the rep for AGAME and I have outfitted All Madden, Hit Squad, Danger, Beltway, Karma, Victors (when they wear their jerseys), Fuzion and some other squads that aren't playing this season. If your team is ready to step up to some custom jerseys give me a call or shoot me an email... moving on.

NFL:
I was 2-2 last week so lets see if I can go 2-0.
Packers 24 Bears 13
Jets 13 Steelers 10

Games of the Week:
9:45am
Karma (4-1) vs One fore the K (4-0/5-0): Both teams score and both teams defend well. This should be a good one. (Karma -1)
11:00am
All Madden (4-1) vs Pain (3-2): Pain has lost two in a row and it's time see if they can stick together. All Madden doesn't look like they're having fun out there. They need to let loose and just fling the ball like Rodgers did last week but figure out their defense. (All Madden -6)
12:15pm
Hitmen (3-1) vs Habitual (3-1): A true test for both teams fighting for that 2 or 3 seed. Another great game. (even)
1:30pm
Mayhem (2-2) vs RDP (3-2): Mayhem had the week off thanks to the Victors. The field should be nice and muddy by this time. Which could slow the game down and that is the way Scott likes it. RDP is throwing points up there like crazy though. (RDP -4)

That's it fellas. Good luck out there.

MDSSC: Winter Flag Football - Week 3 Wrap Up

As promised... the blog has been updated. Check out the new Poll Pages above. Now, you can easily view your divisions polls without having to read all my bull shit. If you're still interested in that then keep reading.

All Pro:

The typical teams are separating themselves from the pack but this entire division is pretty even accept for a team or two. The only thing is, that all three undefeated teams are in the same division (Untouchables, All Madden and Pain). I don't know how the playoffs are lined up but I wonder if that could get sticky come March Madness time. Just some notes and then I'm done for the holidays.

All Madden - Very Strong Offense they added three weapons to their offense that has only made them better. Defense is still very suspect. I saw back to back 80 yard touch downs last week. They need to get back to basics on D.

Untouchables - Solid Offense and Solid Defense... Untouchables are kind of like the San Diego Chargers in respect to rank (not W's and L's). They always play very well on both sides of the ball and that has lead them to championships.

Pain - has been hit or miss over the last few seasons but I think after playing together and keeping the same guys around they are hitting their stride. Joe (I think that is his name) is a solid QB with quick feet when he needs to make a play.

RDP - After only a blemish on their record losing to the undefeated All Madden squad they dropped 61 on Balls Deep. I haven't seen 61 scored in a long time in All Pro...a long time.

Parting shots: Victors end the first half of the season nicely...Money and Danger trying to iron some things out... Fuzion trying to get ahead so they don't run out of time...Scores has a nice little secret at QB we should find out what kind of team they have after the break. Balls Deep...I don't know man but I hope they pull it together I like that squad. I don't know anything about Prestige Worldwide...

Pro:

Same as above.. You have Beltway, Hitmen and HitSquad.. I'm thinking maybe Habitual and maybe Shire or even a deep sleeper Closet Flags can give them headaches. For the most part though the top 3 are my top 3 for now. Just to show him a little love, a player or two from Hitmen said they have the team to beat. I guess once we see that schedule for the rest of the season we will see how they match up with Beltway. They beat HitSquad by just a point but a win is a win.

Semi-Pro:

Fear Boners, One for the K, Rusty Trombone and Karma have separated themselves early on. However, I feel like this division is pretty even in respect to how the teams are built. I'm looking forward to the second half but these four have jumped out in front.

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanza, and Happy Winter Solstice? Oh and Happy New Year!!

MDSSC Fall Flag Football - New Champs are Crowned!!

I will start this blog off by stating. These guys WON the championship. I can't think of a team that had to overcome what they did to win this thing. They finished the season 2-5! You read that right. Their second win came in the last game of the regular season against Tarheels... and they put them away 41-6. Then they started off with HitSquad in the first round beating them 18-6. This bunch of misfits carried their momentum into the final week games with a chip on their shoulder. They had a fan base and beer chilling in coolers waiting for the end of the day. A focused squad found themselves in a dogfight with the defending Summer Champs, the Untouchables in their first game. I had finished my game early enough to witness the momentum that would carry them to the promised land. With about 4 minutes to go, Danger was down 12 and had the ball. They were able to score at the 2 minute mark, failing on the conversion to make it a 6 point game. All Untouchables had to do was get a first down and the game was over. First play, short pass to the flats. Time out, Danger. Second play, Sack!, Time out Danger. and if I remember correctly, they picked off a desperation pass by Nick. That or a punt. Either way, Danger had the ball with about a minute left with only about 30 yards to go. Four plays later, they are in the endzone. Now, all they have to do is convert this 1pt conversion and it's over. Surprisingly, it was a pretty lax effort by them failing on the conversion and now on to OT. In the end, Danger scored and Untouchables failed to capitalize. Next up for Danger...? Defending Spring Champs, All Madden. This game was similar in the fact that it was a dog fight. Back and forth we went with them before ultimately coming down to the end. With under 30 seconds left, All Madden was down by 7 and was able to get the ball in the end zone. The decision made next decided the outcome. Blitz was open and the decision was to go for two for the win. Jump Ball tossed to the left and knocked down by the Danger Safety. Game over. And finally, TTB was the team that had to face these guys in the end. Danger was rolling and this point and crushed TTB. I don't know what the final score was but I saw Danger pick off TTB's QB at least 4-5 times. I imagine I will know the final score soon. So there you have it...another season is in the books and a new Champ is crowned. Congratulations to Danger and their fans.

See everyone out there on 12/4 for the winter season. Looking forward to it fellas.

MDSSC - Fall Flag Football - Round 2 (Championship Saturday)

Not sure about the spreads, but I was 7 for 8 last weekend. I won't recap too much. But here is what I will say. "Come On Hit Squad!", Balls Deep can play, Still have no idea about BullDawgs and this weekend should be awesome!

Okay, So here is how it is laid out:

8:30am Games:
#1 Untouchables vs #7 Danger:
The Untouchables have given up more points than usual this season... but it doesn't discount the fact that they are undefeated yet again. Danger will have to play balls out to take down these guys. I'm not sure Danger has the ability. They have some playmakers and their QB has a gun... but is it enough? (Untouchables -7)

#4 All Madden vs #5 Pain:
I don't like posting on my own games but since it is the playoffs I will give Pain and the guys on my team some reading. Pain is an up and down team. But there is no overlooking Joe (QB) and his quick feet. When he gets in trouble he can make things happen on the ground. All Madden suffered two tough losses the last time they were out, and with a full squad this weekend, we have only one goal in mind and that is playing one game at a time. No spread for this one...

#3 TTB vs (Unranked) BullDawgs:
I can't sleep on TTB anymore. Even without seeing the BullDawgs play this season, I can't pick against a Shawnp lead team. (TTB -6)

#2 Victors vs (Unranked) Balls Deep: I wish I could watch this game. This is an interesting match-up. Balls Deep has All-Pro caliber guys and, in my opinion, can stay in any game. With that being said, I know the Victors won't take them lightly. After playing the Victors last week, I know that they have put together a tough squad. It's all a matter of sticking together. (Victors -2)

Based on what I have above that would make the following the 10:00am games:

#1 Untouchables vs #4 All Madden
#2 Victors vs #3 TTB

I won't pretend to even know what would happen in this scenario. So, to remain unbiased, I will leave it to you to decide. See the poll to the right. Good luck out there everyone. See you Saturday.

MDSSC - Summer Flag Football - PLAYOFFS

Playoffs are here... time to get rolling on my predictions. Mike updated the brackets, so I will go off that and just give my predictions for tomorrow in All Pro and Pro. Semi... you already know my thoughts.

**Forgot to Post this. I have a Fall team (Closet Flags) is looking for some individuals. They will be in Pro or Semi pro. If you're interested give Adam a call at 410.967.0673. Thanks!**

*DON'T FORGET TO VOTE IN THE ALL-PRO POLL ----------->>>

Here we go:
8:30am: #5W Scores vs #4E Jacked Up: Scores had to forfeit last week. They are win-less this season which, unfortunately, isn't going to change here. Jacked Up wins easy. (Jacked Up -14)

8:30am: #5E Franchise vs #4W CCC: From what I heard CCC waxed Franchise last week. Not sure what to think about this game. Both teams played multiple games last week and it was Franchises third of the day when they ran into CCC. Flipped a coin and Franchise was the lucky winner.. (Franchise -1)

11:00am: #2W LBH2 vs #3 Fuzion: LBH seemed a little out of sorts against Franchise last week. A lot of blame was going around. Fuzion on the other hand played as a team to beat the Victors. Fuzion also beat LBH 30-20 earlier this season... (Fuzion -6.5)

11:00am: #2E Mayhem vs #3W All Express: This should be a great game. Considering Kosty and Nick's remarks, I assume they will have their full squad* there. With that being said, I believe Mayhem should all be accounted for. All Express took it to Untouchables last week but I recently heard that Untouchables started the game off with 7. That let a little air out of the balloon for me. Mayhem is consistent and has performed well as always. Taking my bias out of the equation I say: (Mayhem -1.5)

11:00am: #1E Untouchables vs #4E Jacked Up: Untouchables beat JU easily in the first week of the season, but I don't think that game means anything here. Untouchables lost their first game of the season last week with JU coming out of a 3game week 2-1. This game honestly depends on how JU's QB is playing. I give him two modes Football mode and Baseball mode...if he is in football mode this game will be great and they could win due to their size and physical play - Baseball mode? They get crushed. Either way I think Untouchables wins... (Untouchables -4.5)

11:00am: #1W Victors vs Mayhem/All Express: Victor's win over AE doesn't amount to much because I don't know which team the Victors played. The Victors didn't get to see Mayhem this season. Regardless,  I think Bill has his best team in years and one of the best in the league. Sorry for the pressure Bill. (Victors -4 over either)

PRO:
9:45am (All Games)
#1W TTB vs #4W Spartans: Spartans have barely been able to field a team lately. My boy Ray needs to blow that team up and bring in some new blood for next season. This will be a warm up game for TTB. (TTB -21)

#2W Hit Squad vs #3E Menace: Hit Squad is rolling and they should in this game. Not sure if Menace will get more than 8 there. (Squad -16)

#2E Hitmen vs #3 Bulldawgs: I have yet to see the Bulldawgs play this year but I don't think it matters. Hitmen will roll in this game with their tiny football. (Hitmen -14)

#1W Shire vs #4 Go4Broke: Shire has been an interesting team these last two weeks. They better get back to being ONE cohesive unit. Luckily they have a struggling G4B to match up against. Unfortunately, G4B just hasn't been able to get things going this season. (Shire -13.5)

12:15pm:
#1E TTB vs #2W Hit Squad: This should be a great game! Hit Squad gave TTB their lone loss this season. I might just have to flip a coin here but instead I am going for the upset. (Hit Squad -1.5)

#1W Shire vs #2E Hitmen: Another great game here... Two weeks ago it almost went into overtime had Hitmen not given up a last second TD and Conversion. The conversion is what won the game for Shire after Hitmen erased a 26-13 deficit in the 2nd half. I don't even know what to put here but if Clyde makes one mistake and his team turns on him as they often do...Hitmen will win. I say: (Shire -1)

That's it for today... I will wrap it up on Sunday or Monday and give you my predictions before next weeks Semi's and Championship.

MDSSC - Summer Flag Football - Week 7 (Final Week)

It's that time gentlemen...it's the final week of the season. The week where some teams just chill and don't care about the results, the week where you are vying for that final spot in the playoffs, or the week where Jacked Up catches up with the rest of All-Pro in games (3 this week) and gets on a roll before next week's playoffs.

So let's get right down to this week's games.

8:30am
Franchise (2-4) vs Jacked Up (1-3): Both teams are on a streak...a losing streak. So one thing is for sure, someone is going to have a win today. The question is, who? Franchise forfeited last week as they were going to have to play their 3rd game without their QB and JU took a week off too to heal their wounds. I have no idea what to expect here but a physical game. (Franchise -1.5)
9:45am
Untouchables (6-0) vs All Express (2-4): Untouchables are in good form again this season and rolling. If you listen to Kosty there is no telling what All Express squad is going to show up. If you have a blue shirt you might just have a chance to play with them. (all in good fun guys) I don't care who shows up. The only team in my opinion that can play head to head with them is a full Victors squad. (Untouchables -8)
11:00am
CCC (2-4?) vs Jacked Up (1-3): I am not sure of the actual record for CCC as Mike has both them and FH getting a loss last week. Here's one thing I do know. This is game two for JU and both of them have only won against the same team. Based on experience I say: (Jacked Up -4)
12:15pm
Shire (6-0) vs TTB (5-1): First off, this game doesn't really matter as both teams have locked up the #1 seed for their respective divisions. But you can't tell them that. This football game has the makings of being a great one. I don't even know who to pick here. But since it is supposed to be a gorgeous day you should stick around and watch if you're not doing anything. (EVEN)

Okay, so those are the games of the week in their respective time slots. Now on to stuff that may or may not start some debate...The Mac Poll:

ALL PRO MAC POLL:
1. (LW 2) Untouchables (6-0)
2. (LW 1) Victors (5-1)
3. (LW 4) Mayhem (4-1)
4. (LW 6) Fuzion (3-3)
5. (LW 3) LBH2 (3-3)
6. (LW 5) Franchise (2-4)
7. (LW 7) Jacked Up (1-3)
8. (LW 8) All Express (2-4)
9. (LW 9) CCC (2-4?)
10. (LW 10) Scores (0-6)

Untouchables climbed for obvious reasons...Mayhem climbed with a win an locked in #2 in their division. Fuzion climbed 3 spots because they beat LBH and Franchise forfeited. Standings for divisions look like this:
East: #1 Untouchables - #2 Mayhem are locked. #3-5 is up for grabs.
West: #1 Victors - #2 LBH - #3 All Express - #4 CCC - #5 Scores - All locked in.
The big question is: Does Mike do reseeding after the first round? Victors and Untouchables get a bye since it is a 10 team playoff.

PRO MAC POLL:
1. Shire (6-0) - IN
2. Hit Squad (5-1) - IN
3. TTB (5-1) - IN
4. Hitmen (3-3) - IN
5. Menace (2-4) - OUT
6. Bulldawgs (2-4) - OUT
7. Go 4 Broke (1-5) - OUT
8. Spartans (0-6) - OUT

Per the League only the top two per division make it in. They are locked in.
East: #1 Shire - #2 Hit Squad
West: #1 TTB - #2 Hitmen

SEMI-PRO MAC POLL:
1. Crabcakes (6-0)
2. Balls Deep (5-1)
3. Circus Show (3-3)
4. Bayside Tigers (2-4)
5. Warriors (2-4)
6. I Hate Brion (0-6)

Zack Morris and the Tigers took down the Warriors 6-0 resulting in the only changes in this week's poll. All teams in Semi-Pro make it to the playoffs. I would imagine that Balls Deep and Crabcakes would get byes and then it would go from there. My thoughts are that it will be Balls Deep vs Crabcakes in a rematch for the championship. Outcome of their game earlier this season was 18-19 by way of the Crabcakes.

Okay...that's it from here. Good luck out there this weekend.

MDSSC Flag Football - Week 5 Wrap-Up

Here are the flag football scores from yesterday:

8:30am:
Jacked Up (1-1) vs Fuzion (1-3): Fuzion was able to take advantage of Jacked Up's lack of a QB early by picking off his first two passes, one for a TD. Before they new it JU was down 20-0. JYU's QB finally showed up but it was a little too late. It was a hell of a defensive 2nd half with only 15 points scored in total. The final score was Fuzion 28 - Jacked Up 7. (Original Projection: JU -2)
Victors (4-0) vs LBH2 (3-1): I didn't get to see this game as I was at the JU-Fuzion game but the final score was 33-19 by way of the Victors...Courtesy of 3 TD's from #9. (Original Projection: Victors -10)
Go 4 Broke (0-4) vs Bulldawgs (1-3): No Score reported...Update, Bulldawgs won, 39-25.
9:45am:
All Express (0-3) vs Scores (0-5): Kosty didn't lie.. The All Express had a new look about them and actually had 11 guys. Scores unfortunately didn't. This one was over pretty quick. Final score 45-12 - All Express.
Mayhem (1-1) vs CCC (1-2): Another one I didn't get to see but after interviewing a Mayhem player, I found out that CCC scored a late touchdown to make the game seem closer. Final score 33-32.
Franchise (1-1) vs Untouchables (4-0): Well the first of two football games for Franchise wasn't a fun one. It was a tough adjustment for them to start the weekend without Proc. They lost this one big. No final score reported for them but Untouchables covered. (Original Projection: Untouchables -6) "Untouchables 45 Franchise Hollywood 12. Game ended early. Halftime score was 33-6"
Balls Deep (2-1) vs Circus Show (3-1): [Semi-Pro] Okay Pre-K...I expect an explanation or at least a comment about your game this weekend. The final score of this one was 38-6 by way of Balls Deep. (Original Projection: Balls Deep -4)
11:00am:
Victors (4-0) vs Jacked Up (1-1): So Jacked Up had a tough go of it first thing in the morning without their QB... this time around one of their best players was unable to make it back and JU had to play with only 7 guys. They played a hell of a game considering the circumstances. Their Todd Heap and Coach Tim made some crazy catches to keep their hopes up. Unfortunately, #9, #29 and #5 had a different plan and with the help of Bill throwing them the ball they routed JU 39-20. That's 2 more TD's for #9 giving him 5 for the day. Original quote from #9: "I smell ummmmmm maybe 4 tds maybe 5 ill see how I feel when I wake up on saturday!!!!" So there you have it. He followed through. (Original Projection: Victors -4)
Shire (4-0) vs Menace (2-2): [Pro] The final score of this game was 24-14. I heard it was close and Shire didn't have Clyde. Either way Shire is rollin.
Hit Squad (3-1) vs Spartans (0-4): [Pro] Not much to report...32-0 Hit Squad. Spartans, I want you guys to stay in the league... so keep your heads up. But it may be time to regroup.
Bayside Tigers (1-3) vs Warriors (1-2) [Semi-Pro] Score of this game was 31-22. Warriors won. Maybe Zack can tell us what happened....and maybe Zack can get us some pics of Kelly in the locker room?
12:15pm:
TTB (3-1) vs Hitmen (3-1): [Pro] Somebody came into this game with a chip on his shoulder (Shawn)...and TTB played like it. This game was over before halftime. It's hard to say what happened here. I want to give TTB their props (Shawn did tell me that they have the BEST PLAYER in the LEAGUE in #7) but Hitmen's defense was atrocious. TTB's QB had all day to throw the ball to WIDE open players (#7 for at least 2 td's). Final Score: 59-21 (TTB) Here's what I will say... TTB has a great stingy defense and a fast offense. TTB still has to play Shire but they have the right things in motion to contend for the championship. With that being said. Whoever wins the Pro division better take their ass to All-Pro because most of you talk way too much trash without playing some of the best teams. (Original Projection: Hitmen -2)
Franchise (1-1) vs Mayhem (1-1): I got to catch the end of this game and it got close in a hurry. Mayhem was up 20 at one point in this game but Franchise was able to find a grove without their QB and tied it with about 5 minutes to go. Unfortunately for them, they couldn't stop Mayhem. Mayhem scored late but gave Franchise a little under 2 with the ball....and they were able to score with a minute to go. It all came down to the conversion and they weren't able to convert. Mayhem won 27-26. (Original Adj. Projection: Mayhem -10)
Crabcakes (4-0) vs I Hate Brion (0-4): [Semi-Pro] No score reported
All Express (0-3) vs CCC (1-2): All Express was able to get two in a row today to climb to 2-3 for the season knocking off CCC 25-20.

Well there you go guys. Some Monday morning reading for you. A new Mac Poll will be out on Monday afternoon.

MDSSC - Summer Flag Football - Week 5

Okay Travis, let's get this knocked out so you can get yourself ready for a double header tomorrow. If you want to see a recap of last week you can click here. Let's just jump right into the games for this weekend. There are some good ones.

8:30am
Jacked Up (1-1) vs Fuzion (1-3): Jacked Up is back to their 2 games a day - 2 weeks off routine. They get to start with a an unusual 1-win team in Fuzion. Fuzion has had a tough time winning and I have yet to see JU play. I guess I will say... (Jacked Up -2) Considering they beat Scores 28-12 and Fuzion survived Scores 32-30.
LBH2 (3-1) vs Victors (4-0): This is an interesting one. LBH2 was known for getting after the Victors. But these aren't the same Victors. The Victors have won some great games but LBH2 has only lost to the Untouchables. Even with LBH2's 3-1 record I am saying...P.S. Travis thinks he might score 4 td's on Saturday, that's #9 for LBH2... (Victors -10)
9:45am
Franchise (2-1) vs Untouchables (4-0): This should be a great game! Proc has a cannon for an arm and Franchise has some players that can get after it on both sides of the ball. Untouchables, on the other hand, have run through our league twice to be crowned champs and you can't underestimate them. This is easily the game of the day. (Franchise -1) (Adj. spread as we get closer...Untouchables -6)
Circus Show (3-1) vs Balls Deep (2-1): Here's your Semi-pro love... Balls deep has a strong-armed QB and as long as he can put the ball on point I think Balls Deep might humble the Show. In fairness to the Show, I have not seen them play. So...(Balls Deep -4)
11:00am
Jacked Up (1-1) vs Victors (4-0): This will be the second game for both of these teams on a hot day. I have no idea what to say here so I will say.... (Victors -4) based on the fact that they have won 3 tough games and JU has been off for two weeks.
12:15pm
TTB (3-1) vs Hitmen (3-1): And here is your Pro love... This is the best game in this division this weekend. Both team's only loss comes by way of the Hit Squad. So they're playing for 3rd place, considering no one has beat Shire. I like this match up though and think that the Hitmen can keep their streak going...but it will be tough. (Hitmen -2)
Franchise (2-1) vs Mayhem (1-1): This will also be Franchise's second game on a hot day and Mayhem should have the leverage in regards to being cool. Mayhem lost a tough one last week to Untouchables but hadn't played in two weeks prior to that. The key in this game will be who gets stops on Defense. I am going to give Mayhem some love here... (Mayhem -2.5) (Adj. Spread as we get closer...Mayhem -10)

To add a little gas to the fire... Here's my AP poll going into this weekend for All Pro and Pro:

ALL PRO MAC POLL:
1. Victors (4-0)
2. Untouchables (4-0)
3. LBH2 (3-1)
4. Franchise (2-1)
5. Mayhem (1-1)
6. Jacked Up (1-1)
7. CCC (1-2)
8. Fuzion (1-3)
9. All Express (0-3)
10. Scores (0-5)

PRO MAC POLL:
1. Shire (4-0)
2. Hit Squad (3-1)
3. Hitmen (3-1)
4. TTB (3-1)
5. Menace (2-2)
6. Bulldawgs (1-3)
7. Go 4 Broke (0-4)
8. Spartans (0-4)

Alright fellas, it's a wrap. I will be out at the fields this weekend. Let's try and keep the scraps to a minimum...wait, NO FIGHTS! You are grown ass men. Supposed to be anyway. Leave it out on the field. Good Luck to everyone.

One More Thing... You guys have seen me plug Jerseys on here before and if you're interested in looking as good as All Madden, Able Danger, Victors, Fuzion, Hit Squad, Shire, Spartans, Jacked Up or Go 4 Broke.. I can help you out. And if Flag football jerseys aren't your thing...yet. But you want something custom (Check out the Victors new threads this weekend) I can also help you out with moisture wicking shirts...Just hit me up.

MDSSC Summer Flag Football - Week 4 Wrap-Up

Alright, so just a quick post to wrap-up the rain soaked weekend that was flag football in Hunt Valley. I guess Mike beat me to it as the website is updated. First off, let me say that there must have been something in the rain because some unnamed guys got their panties in a bunch this last weekend. One guy was even bit on the tit! What the hell men? This is Flag Football. There is no reason to get all macho out there and try to fight someone. We are all supposed to be grown men. Act that way on the field. If someone cheap shots you, hopefully the refs will see it...if not, don't try to fight them. If you're not injured just get up and walk away. Alright, now that that's out of the way lets get to some football.

Hitmen covered the spread (-8) in a 32-19 victory over Menace. LBH2, however, was not able to cover (-10). They did win though...they beat a 7 man Madden/Express team 26-20. This is an interesting score and Kosty commented on the last post stating to look out for them. So we will see what they have in store for us. The Victors vs Franchise game lived up to the hype. The rain was pouring and the competition was great. The final two minutes were pretty exciting. I'll paint the picture here:

The Victors were up 32-24 with a little less than 2 minutes to go. They had the ball on their own 10. All they had to do was get a first down and the game's pretty much over. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Franchise clamped down and was able to force the Victors into a 4th and long. Victors did the smart thing and punted the ball...however, it was a line drive straight at the Franchise returner, he got it past mid-field and the play ended with about 55 seconds left. Franchise couldn't move the ball and got into a 4th and long goal. Proc threw it to the goal line and pass interference was called. This was not a bad call from the goal line ref...however, there was claim that the ball was tipped by the rusher. The line of scrimmage ref had to make the call. He said that it didn't matter (in my opinion WRONG... if the ball is tipped there is no PI. PERIOD)... either way 1st and goal from the 1. Franchise scores with about 15 seconds left. 32-30... blitz is open and the Victors make the stop. Great game by both teams!

Other scores:
ALL-PRO
Untouchables beat Mayhem 21-7 covering their 3pt spread.
Fuzion was able to outlast a creative Scores team 32-30. (Mike, I may have forgot to add the last second TD on the scorecard). By the way, Scores, awesome use of the pistol formation!
Victors beat CCC earlier in the day 26-14. CCC had just too many turnovers but were right there with the Victors.
PRO
Shire remained undefeated after surviving a late surge by the guys with all heart G4B. (18-12)
Hit Squad handled the Bulldawgs 32-13
TTB crushed the Spartans 46-14...
SEMI-PRO
Pre-K and the Circus Show limited just one TD to the Warriors winning 24-6
Balls Deep had 2 too many turnovers and let one slip away to the Crabcakes losing 18-19
and Bayside Tigers ended the day by beating I Hate Brion 32-6.

MDSSC Summer Flag Football - Week 4

I know I said Friday but my week as caught up to me... so unfortunately here are just some quick hits.

Games of the Week:
8:30AM: Menace vs Hitmen - I dunno why I am doing this... Hitmen -8
9:45AM: LBH2 vs MaddenExpress - M.E. has to win one of these...right? LBH2 -10
11:00AM: Victors vs Franchise - It's like the Colts vs Ravens in the playoffs for you Baltimore folk. If TJ is hurt, which I heard he was, then this could be pretty close. Victors -2
12:15PM: Untouchables vs Mayhem - Mayhem is missing out on their Allstar (DL)... I say Untouchables -3

Sorry about the lack of posts gentlemen, but I did enjoy the banter back and forth on the comment section. Can you guys man up (exception to AD #44 and Roger) and put your names down?

I will be out there all day tomorrow.Good luck to everyone. Oh, and FYI, the website is updated...

Summer Flag Football - MDSSC Hunt Valley

Sorry for the delay this week guys. I didn't make it out to the games last week and only heard about the Victors win over Madden Express and the Hollywood win over Fuzion. With that being said, I saw the standings and here are my thoughts...

Fuzion is off to an 0-2 start. Not typical of this team...The Victors and Franchise Hollywood are both off to 2-0 starts and will still be undefeated after this week as they are both down in Virginia for some contact flag football tourneys. Jacked up has still yet to play a football game this season but draw the Untouchables for their opener. That should be a good game. Here are the standings:

Franchise Hollywood: 2-0           Victors: 2-0
Mayhem: 1-0                                      CCC: 1-1
Untouchables: 1-0                           LBH2: 1-1
Jacked Up: 0-0                                  Madden Express: 0-2
Fuzion: 0-2                                         Scores: 0-2

GAMES OF THE WEEK:
8:30am Fuzion vs Untouchables: Unless Fuzion finds their defense...I say Untouchables -6
11:00am Jacked Up vs Untouchables: 2nd game on a hot day for the Untouchables, I say Jacked Up -3

In the Pro division there are two strong teams, in my opinion...Hit Squad and Shire/Movement. The others are a tad behind them. That's not a knock on Menace but the other two squads are putting points on the board.

GAMES OF THE WEEK:
8:30am Go 4 Broke vs Hitmen: G4B needs a win and need some offense, they have only put up 21 points in two games. However, they are a team that can get in "Roger the Great's" head though... G4B to get of the schneid -1.5
9:45am Hit Squad vs Shire: Battle of the Undefeated....they are identical Points given up 32/36 and Points scored 63/62.. EVEN
11:00am TTB vs Menace: This is where Menace is humbled... TTB -4

Special shout out to the Hit Squad... They will be debuting their new AGame Team Flag Football Jerseys this week. They look fantastic. Thanks gentlemen and good luck. No more INT's Brady Quinn!

That's it from me this week. Stay cool Hunt Valley.

MDSSC - Men's Summer Flag Football Kicks Off!

Well the Summer Flag Football season officially kicked off this last Saturday. I was able to see a few games and hope to catch some each week. I am still out of commission so I should have time to catch some games.

Let's start with what some would say is the biggest news of the early season. The Victors, as we've known them for the last 5 years, is no more. After an amicable split, two new teams were formed. Staying true to the blue and gold are Bill, Nueve and Los...I think I may be missing a guy or two. They picked up some guys from various contact football leagues that have played with Bill in some form or fashion and look to have a pretty good squad. They played well together on Saturday disposing of the up-and-coming Scores team.(24-6) You know what was weird? They didn't have the patented yelling and arguing on the sidelines or between each other...but I digress. The other team that formed with some of the veterans of old Victors are now known as Franchise Hollywood. Leading the way for them is #21, who has a cannon for an arm and is leading a nationally ranked flag football team, the Blaze over in MDFFA in Essex. Along with him are some familiar faces: #1 Oakley, #27 Blaze, C.Grant, Lichaa and some other talent from the MDFFA Giants and Brigade. They survived their debut against the Express, who have a few pieces from the Spring Champs All Madden squad. (14-13)

On to the other two games I got to see. Roger and the Hit Men took on a hungry Hit Squad led by DJ and crew. Let's just say that it may have been a game for the first 5 minutes. Hit Squad came out aggressive and wanting this one from the first whistle. Although Brady Quinn tried to keep it a game, after a throwing a few drive ending interceptions. They never lost composure though, and forced more turnovers than they gave up and easily won 38-12.

The other game that I watched was the Spartans versus Menace. I didn't know what to expect from this game, but I didn't expect the 32-0 drumming that Menace handed to the Spartans. Menace is an interesting team and they will have their challenges this season, but good confidence building win. I have to hand it to the Spartans though. They play tough every week and never give up. Few tips though...you guys are going to have to switch it up. Simplify your game. Focus on getting first downs and the scoring will come. You guys have the talent to compete in this flag football league!

Let's round it up. Mayhem jumped out to a 28-0 lead on Fuzion before winning 36-18. Nice fight from Fuzion after being down so much at halftime. Scott is back and Mayhem has made some positive changes to their roster. Looking forward to seeing how their season goes. As for Fuzion, you can never count them out.

LBH2 is back and started their season off nice with a 30-13 win over the Coyotes. In Pro, G4B lost a close one to TTB (13-14) and Shire outscored the Bulldawgs 40-30.

Here are a few games to look for this weekend:
8:30am - LBH2 (1-0) vs Untouchables (0-0)
9:45am - Hit Squad (1-0) vs TTB (1-0)
11:00am - Scores (0-1) vs Coyotes (0-1)

Well that's it from me this week... Good luck guys

Spring Flag Football Champs - All Madden gets over the hump vs Untouchables

Well the Spring season is over. Unfortunately, I have not been able to keep this up to date as some fortunate and unfortunate issues happened. The fortunate, my son was born.

The unfortunate, I got hurt in week one and wasn't able to drive, let alone come to the games.

However, since my team won, I did get a nice recap of last weekend's playoff run. So here it goes:

First off, All Madden had the HitMen and handled them quickly with a 47-6 victory. They then had WTF!? after WTF!? handled the Beltway Bombers. That victory was also easy for All Madden with it ending 40-12.

On Sunday, All Madden faced Pain for their first game. They jumped up on them with some defensive TD's and at halftime it was 32-8, in favor of All Madden. The game ended 46-8, I believe.

Now for a rematch - not a championship rematch - but a brewing rivalry between Untouchables and All Madden. The Untouchables have dominated the league the last three seasons and have become a typical face in the championship game. Today, however, was All Madden's day. It was a great game that came down to almost the exact same situation as the last time these two met. It was 26-20 in favor of All Madden at the two minute warning. The Untouchables had the ball. (The last time this happened, Mike threw me the ball...it was a little off (jk Mike), and I dropped it right into the Untouchables' defender's hands. They drove and scored and we couldn't get back in the end-zone.) This time was different.  The new addition Aaron Nocar picked off a pass towards the end-zone and that was all she wrote. All Madden 26 - Untouchables 20.

The Champs... minus Me and Jimmy (#13).

All Madden is taking a break...too many guys will be gone this summer. So good luck to the teams playing this season. Now that I am starting to get a routine two weeks into becoming a dad I am going to try and get this thing back up and running.

Play Hard or Go Home... but don't take your ball.

-Will

P.S. Since this is my blog I will go ahead and plug AGame too. As most of you know by now, I am the Account Manager for AGame for this region. If you are tired of wondering why you look so bad as a team, unlike: Able Danger, All Madden, Beltway Bombers, Fuzion, The Movement, WTF!?, The Victors, Go4Broke, Spartans, Jacked Up and soon the Hit Squad... give me a call or shoot me an email I will be glad to get you hooked up with some custom jerseys for your team. When you look good, you play better.

Flag Football Blog....Maryland Flag Football League

Fellow Flag Footballers,

I apologize for the lack of posts over the last couple of months. That winter season was a huge debacle with all of the weather that we got and the huge breaks in play. My team, in fact, was on a 7 week break before those playoffs that resulted in the Untouchables winning back-to-back titles. Props to them, by the way.

Well the season started a couple of weeks ago and unfortunately, I hurt my ankle to the point that it might as well had broke. Unfortunately, I am done for the season. The doc has me on crutches and in a boot for 4-6 weeks and I am stuck at home. On top of being hobbled and missing football, my son is due to be born any day now. With all that being said, the blog isn't on top of my priority list. I can't wait to get back out there but in the mean time I can't drive let alone get out there to watch some games and take pictures or video.

The last couple of times I posted I had suggested that some of you send me your scores and a write up if they want but only a few guys did that....so here's the deal guys. I am out of commission for this season and maybe the summer. If you want to, send me the scores of your game and a write up if you want. If I only get 2-3 then I will just stop the blog for a while until I am at least able to come watch some games. I am putting it in your hands. I don't care either way. If I do get emails from you then we can do some polls or rankings...otherwise I will see you guys when I get back.

Thanks Beltway Bombers....just kidding.

So...Are we finally going to finish this flag football season??

So...I have kind of given up on this season. What has it been? Six weeks? That storm really screwed us up. I am not even going to try and recap what went on before our hiatus. Let's just start with the Standings and then talk about some scenarios that could leave some teams wishing that the season was just canceled.

ACC:
Fuzion (4-1)
Money (4-1)
Victors (3-2)
Pain (3-2)
Jacked Up (3-2)
OUT:
Revolution (1-4)
Jumpoff (0-5)
Com'On Man (0-5)

Only two out of JU, Pain and Victors make it in. One of the Victors losses is to Pain. Jacked up beat Pain. The Victors play Jacked up on Saturday. Pain plays Money. Before I go any further...see below

Pac-8:
Untouchables (5-0)
Mayhem (4-1)
All Madden (4-2)
Showtime (3-1)
Danger (3-2)
LBH2 (3-3)
OUT:
Rezurrection (1-3)
Black Panthers (0-5)

In this division Untouchables and All Madden are in. There should be some good games for Showtime, Mayhem and Danger.

**Important note: Money, Danger, Mayhem and Rezurrection only have 6 games on the schedule Looks like Mike will have to do some editing to get two more games in this weekend so that we can insure all tiebreakers are accurate.

So with that being said, this has been one of the more interesting seasons since the inception of the league. It is unfortunate but we just have to try and get our minds right for the playoffs. Spring is just around the corner. See you guys out there for our first 50 degree day in a while.

Okay, so here are a few pictures that I took last week... Here's my quick plug... Spring is just around the corner and you need to get your order in soon. WTF?! is already prepared for the Spring. See below for more information:
Thank you to Fuzion, All Madden, Victors, Revolution (they brought AGame to the league first), Jacked Up, Spartans, Beltway Bombers, Danger and soon to be WTF!? for wearing AGameTeam Jerseys. For those of you that want to look as good as these squads give me a call (877.898.4082x107) or email me at williammcginnis@agameteam.com.

Don't know who this kid is...but he made a nice grab!

Sorry John...had to do it. You did eventually get the flag by the way.

Formerly #77 of Express...now playing for Money. Throw him the ball!

MDSSC - Winter Flag Football Week 6

Okay Jay... here you go. Sorry for the lack of reading material for you guys this week but I got to go see Kobe dominate the Wizzers on Tuesday and just didn't have time. So let's get right to it.

Unofficial Scores (not confirmed with Mike):
Danger (3-2) vs Black Panthers (0-5): Danger won 30-20... Danger is keeping their hopes alive with this win. Three tough games to end the season.
I said: Danger -12
All Madden (4-1) vs The Untouchables (5-0): The Untouchables remained unbeaten in a thrashing of All Madden.. They handled us on both sides of the ball. They forced turnovers and scored on every possession. I don't remember the score (40 something to 15) but I do know that we were humbled.
I didn't say:
Mayhem (3-1) vs LBH2 (2-3): Contrary to the moves that  LBH2's quarterback puts on guys (see above), they just couldn't move the ball on Mayhem and couldn't stop them. Mayhem won this one easy by 3-4 TD's. LBH2 and Showime will have an interesting battle next week (2/6).
I said: Mayhem -4
Money (3-1) vs Fuzion (3-1): Man-oh-man....Money had this game in the bag. This was one of the only games I got to watch on Saturday. Some video is coming soon but I had technical difficulties. Money jumped out quick forcing a few turnovers and going deep on some big plays to grab a 21-0 lead. They gave up a score before half and then I don't know what happened. The only thing I saw was that Money had to punt at least 3 times in the 2nd half and Fuzion didn't. Fuzion won 27-21. John don't forget #11 and that kid (#77) from the Express. They are...well Money.
I said: Fuzion -3
Jacked Up (3-1) vs Revolution (0-4): The schneid continued. Jacked up moved into typical late season form, setting themselves up to be in the playoffs and a threat to everyone. Unfortunately, it looks like the Revolution we have known for years seems to have fallen right before our eyes similar, to No Response. Jacked Up won 21-6.
I said: Jacked Up -4
Victors (3-1) vs Jumpoff (0-4): Jumpoff made this an interesting game. They jumped up 14-0 on the Victors early and looked to be in control of this game. The Victors couldn't stop them and couldn't score...That was the first half. I think the Victors scored before the half but that detail doesn't matter. Jumpoff didn't score until the last few seconds of the game. Victors won 28-20 after settling in on offense as they typically do. Great showing by Jumpoff, except for one late turnover that could have helped them seal it.
I said: Victors -16
Jacked up (3-1) vs Com'On Man (0-4): Jacked up won...

Pro and Semi-Pro scores I received:
First from a guest writer:
By Bobby Curran, Quarterback, Beltway Bombers
Beltway - 48
Movement - 20
The game started with a good defensive stand by Movement and a solid punt return. The Bombers were able to stop the Movement drive and put a few scoring drives together to go into halftime with a lead. Movement came out strong in the second half putting up 2 TD's out of the gate, but Beltway was able to respond with a big 4th down TD play. After a few more back and forth field position battles, Beltway was able to seal the deal late, winning the game 48-20.
I said: Beltway -3
Thanks Bobby!
Other scores: Hit Squad handled Go For Broke 45 to 13
Semi-Pro: Closet Flags (Greatest name in the league) edged out Crab Cakes 19-12 in the final seconds. Liquid Courage also edged out Each Hit and Die (also one of the Greatest names in the league) 35-33...we might have a Quarterback controversy.

THIS WEEKS GAMES:
I realize every week that I write way too much. I hope that some of you enjoy it. Also, I apologize to Mayhem...I have no idea where I got Pain instead of LBH2.

8:00am
Black Panthers (0-4) vs LBH2 (2-3): This game should be a good chance for LBH to get back to .500. I have heard that the Panthers have the talent but lack the organization. Keep at it men...it can't get any worse.
I say: LBH2 -10
9:15am
Pain (2-2) vs Victors (3-1): This flag football game should be interesting. The Victors messed around last week and almost lost. Pain made it to the title game last season but has been up and down this winter. With the talent and physical play of the Victors  I am leaning towards them. The key is whether Pain's QB can throw as well as he can run.
I say: Victors -6
10:30am:
All Madden (4-1) vs Rezurrection (0-3): All Madden was humbled last week, as I stated earlier. This week they will be out ready to play and get back to winning. Rezurrection will have their say...I don't have much to go on, they lost to Untouchables 18-6 and to Mayhem... The key to this game is: Who can force a turnover?
Yes this is a challenge to my team. No spread for my own games... but we better not LOSE!!!
11:45am:
Danger (3-2) vs Mayhem (3-1): I am going to stick around for this football game, even if it is 20 degrees. This is an interesting match-up. Danger is a scrappy bunch and Mayhem is methodical on offense but not so much on defense. The key to this game is whether Danger can keep up. I know Brandon is going to hate this but I am tossing it up to the vets.
I say: Mayem -2
1:00pm:
Jacked Up (3-1) vs Money (3-1): Another age old flag football match-up. Jacked Up is a physical bunch that actually may have roster issues...in a good way; they have 16 guys on their squad. Money could be 4-0 right now but lost a tough one. The key this week is whether they can keep it together and not turn on John. Win as a team lose as a team... However, you have to throw it to Howley to have a shot. As for JU...Ryan is playing good and Jacked Up's Defense looked solid last week. I say their winning continues.
I say: JU -4
2:15pm:
Showtime (3-1) vs Untouchables (5-0): After experiencing their winning ways first hand last week, I must say that the Untouchables are a surprising bunch. You can't overlook that they won the fall season and are 5-0 this time around. They are a good football squad, as is Showtime.. However, Showtime's wins are over Panthers, Com'On Man and a QB-less Danger.
I say: Untouchables -16
2:15pm:
Fuzion (3-1) vs Com'On Man (0-4): Jay, I know you want a decent write up.. see above for you awesome win over Money. However, here, I will just say: don't run the score up... Com'On Man was thrown into All-Pro in their first year and it is a tough uphill battle. They have some good guys on their squad but just aren't ready yet.
I say: Fuzion -21
3:30pm:
Revoluton (0-4) vs Jumpoff (0-4): Well there is one positive thing I can say about this flag football game... someone is going to be in the win column on Sunday! Jumpoff changed their strategy last week. Joe (Mr. Hands) took over defensive play calling and they looked decent. They also changed some things on offense. Revolution made a change at QB to free up Nick aka Wheels.  This should be interesting.
I say: pick'em
Okay the book is done and it's not even midnight yet. Adding a few pictures in a minute. I will try to take some more this weekend.
