MDSSC: Winter Flag Football - Week 3 Wrap Up

As promised... the blog has been updated. Check out the new Poll Pages above. Now, you can easily view your divisions polls without having to read all my bull shit. If you're still interested in that then keep reading.

All Pro:

The typical teams are separating themselves from the pack but this entire division is pretty even accept for a team or two. The only thing is, that all three undefeated teams are in the same division (Untouchables, All Madden and Pain). I don't know how the playoffs are lined up but I wonder if that could get sticky come March Madness time. Just some notes and then I'm done for the holidays.

All Madden - Very Strong Offense they added three weapons to their offense that has only made them better. Defense is still very suspect. I saw back to back 80 yard touch downs last week. They need to get back to basics on D.

Untouchables - Solid Offense and Solid Defense... Untouchables are kind of like the San Diego Chargers in respect to rank (not W's and L's). They always play very well on both sides of the ball and that has lead them to championships.

Pain - has been hit or miss over the last few seasons but I think after playing together and keeping the same guys around they are hitting their stride. Joe (I think that is his name) is a solid QB with quick feet when he needs to make a play.

RDP - After only a blemish on their record losing to the undefeated All Madden squad they dropped 61 on Balls Deep. I haven't seen 61 scored in a long time in All Pro...a long time.

Parting shots: Victors end the first half of the season nicely...Money and Danger trying to iron some things out... Fuzion trying to get ahead so they don't run out of time...Scores has a nice little secret at QB we should find out what kind of team they have after the break. Balls Deep...I don't know man but I hope they pull it together I like that squad. I don't know anything about Prestige Worldwide...

Pro:

Same as above.. You have Beltway, Hitmen and HitSquad.. I'm thinking maybe Habitual and maybe Shire or even a deep sleeper Closet Flags can give them headaches. For the most part though the top 3 are my top 3 for now. Just to show him a little love, a player or two from Hitmen said they have the team to beat. I guess once we see that schedule for the rest of the season we will see how they match up with Beltway. They beat HitSquad by just a point but a win is a win.

Semi-Pro:

Fear Boners, One for the K, Rusty Trombone and Karma have separated themselves early on. However, I feel like this division is pretty even in respect to how the teams are built. I'm looking forward to the second half but these four have jumped out in front.

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanza, and Happy Winter Solstice? Oh and Happy New Year!!

MDSSC: Week 3 - Games of the Week

Okay guys, as promised, my games of the week.

8:30am
Shire (1-1) vs Habitual Linesteppers (0-1)
I like this game because instead of Shire being 0-2 like the website says, they are 1-1 after putting up 44 on Pink last week. Habitual did win a championship not to long ago (Summer I believe) and I'm not sure they ever matched up with the team formally known as Shire, then The Movement and now Shire. Not knowing the new Shire team or Habitual I am going to say that Shire tosses the rock to Peazy in this one for a narrow win. (Shire -2)

9:45am
RDP (1-1) vs Balls Deep (1-1)
Both teams are coming off tough losses and should make for a great game. RDP as mentioned last night has a strong armed QB and has moved the Side Arm Speedster to rusher and receiver. Balls Deep can counter with their quick rusher and strong armed QB. The key to this game is who commits the first turnover. I have no idea who to pick in this game. Coin flipped.. it was Tails (RDP -1)

11:00am
Victors (0-2) vs Danger (1-1)
This series is turning into a good one... Danger got the best of the Victors last season and has drawn them this week after an interesting 2 weeks for Big Blue. Can the Victors get of the schneid this week? Or is this like when the Cowboys won their 5th ring in 97 and started losing every year after that? Danger went 2-5 last season and then snuck into the playoffs to take down the house.. I see them stunning the Victors and continuing their high. (Danger -3)

Other games of note... All Madden vs Fuzion at 2:45, Karma vs Rustyat 1:30, HitSquad vs xFactor at 12:15 and maybe Pain vs Mayhem bright and early at 8:30.

Bundle up tomorrow, the high is 34...I can only imagine what it will feel like at 8 in the morning.Good luck out there guys.

DON'T FORGET TO EMAIL ME AS A REP/COACH FOR YOUR TEAM IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY. I WANT TO PUT TOGETHER A TEXT LIST AND GET EVERYTHING RUNNING A LITTLE SMOOTHER.

MDSSC: Winter Flag Football - Week 3 (MAC POLL)

First things first, if I don't have it already, I need a coach or a rep from each team to email me their cell#. I am putting together a text list so that I can get the scores from games on Sunday or Monday so that I can throw the poll up by Tuesday. I also want to put together a Coaches Poll... mcginnis32 at yahoo dot com

Moving on...I didn't realize this thing was read so much and for that I'm sorry for the lack of a post last week. First the AP Poll... Run Dem Pockets wanted to be considered #1 prior to last week because they beat Danger by a point... in the words of Lee Corso... "Not so fast my friend!!" Here is my MAC Poll:

All Pro:
1. All Madden (2-0)
2. Untouchables (2-0)
3. Pain (2-0)
4. Run Dem Pockets (1-1)
5. Danger (1-1)
6. Mayhem (1-1)
7. Money (1-1)
8. Fuzion (1-1)
9. Balls Deep (1-1)
10. Victors (0-2)
11. Scores (0-2)
12. Prestige Worldwide/Express? (0-2)

Notes: All Madden better tighten up their D if they want to stay on top...Haven't seen Untouchables play yet but I am sure they're still bitter about their losing effort against Danger in the fall...Pain has two solid wins, I might have to catch one of their games...RDP talked a day too early, but I hear they have the QB from Resurrection (a team from a couple seasons ago) and Mr. Side Arm speedster is rushing  on D and receiving, look out!...Danger only lost to RDP by a point so they seem pretty even...lastly, what the hell is going on with the Victors? I think this might be the first season...ever that they started 0-2. They have the athletes though, don't sleep on them.

Pro:
1. Beltway Bombers (2-0)
2. X-Factor (2-0)
3. Hitmen (1-0)
4. HitSquad (1-1)
5. Shire (1-1)
6. Crabcakes (1-1)
7. Pink (1-1)
8. G6ers (1-1)
9. Show me your TD's (1-1)
10. Habitual Linesteppers (0-1)
11. Closet Flags (0-2)
12. Warriors (0-2)

*Correction... I was informed that Shire beat Pink 44-33. This screwed up my Friday so I did the best I can with Rankings. Hopefully with those of you that have emailed me (Thanks!) I will get the correct data by Sunday/Monday.

Notes:X-Factor has come on scoring the second most points in the Pro division... Beltway got #12 back and if their Steeler QB finds him along with some of their other athletes, I think they might be the favorite...HitSquad has scored the most points in the division so far but lost a narrow one to their rival Hitmen (27-26)...don't sleep on Hitmen or Closet Flags...aside from that, I don't know the other teams other than Shire who lost a lot of guys and are rebuilding.

Semi-Pro:
1. Karma (2-0)
2. Fear Boners (2-0)
3. One fore the "K" (2-0)
4. Rusty Trombone (1-0)
5. Menace (1-1)
6. Team 'B' (1-1)
7. NR (0-2)
8. Punt Liquors (0-2)
9. A.I.D.S (0-2)
10. Jeremy (0-1)*

Notes: Karma dropped down to Semi to get their bearings and it looks like it is working out. They have good guys on their squad and all they need is chemistry...No idea who Fear Boners is but it's one of the greater names in the league...lastly, these rankings are purely based on record. I have no idea how to judge my own division. My squad is new but we are getting it together and I know that after facing Team B and "K" that teams are close to even. Other than that, it looks like Jeremy's game was a forfeit based on the score. So let's hope they start to show up so we all don't lose a game this season.

Okay fellas, that's it for this weeks MAC poll. I will throw up the games of the week tomorrow afternoon.

MDSSC: WINTER FLAG FOOTBALL BEGINS!!!!

Hey Fuckers.... hope you had a good Thanksgiving. Time to work off that turkey and play some football. So this is going to be a brief post because I'm lazy and it takes me a little while to get back into the swing of things. So here are my Three Games of the Week.

8:30am
Balls Deep vs The Express: Why is this a game of the week Will? Well, I will tell you... First, it is because  Balls Deep is playing some great football. In the fall they took down the mighty Victors in the first round but lost to TTB by a slim margin in the Semi's. Either way, they were in Semi-Pro the season before and have stepped up their game. Second, I hear that there are a few Express guys playing with Balls Deep and I think it is interesting for a team to kind-of split only to face each other in their first game. I say my boy John takes his squad to 1-0... (Balls Deep -4)

9:45am
Untouchables vs Victors: Wow, well let's get this one out of the way early, huh Commish? This should be a great game. Both teams lost in the first round of the Fall playoffs which is uncharacteristic. I see these two teams coming out to prove something... if Nueve (shout out!)  is there for the Victors I like their chances...Plus Bill has to gear up for Sunday's playoffs in the 9-man league. (Victors -1)

11:00am
Mayhem vs All Madden: An age old rivalry... Mayhem is like old Cowboys*... They won a lot of Championships back in the day but teams have caught up with them. All Madden is one of those teams. Granted, they don't have the services of #32 anymore, but I think they will survive. They have the bash brothers and Favre (no pictures) at QB. I think Mayhem will come out rusty Saturday morning but this game should be good. I will have a different take on Mayhem come week 4 unless they change my mind earlier. (All Madden -6)
*please note, I am a Cowboy fan and even I wouldn't compare Mayhem to this year's Cowboys.

That's it from me this week ladies. Bundle up it's going to be below 40 until lunch tomorrow.
