50% isn't bad... but could have been better.

MDSSC has been a Flag Football League in Maryland for over seven years and has grown to over 30+ teams a season after starting out as 6 co-ed teams from what I can remember. My goal is to get that to 50 before the summer of 2010.

On to the good stuff.. Week 4 of MDSSC was a balancing weekend at best. The Victors found a way to beat us (NoResponse) 47-25.. After a tight first half ending 22-19, the Victors opened up on us and only gave up one TD. They then took the rest of their vengeance out on a Scott-less Mayhem (61-0)...108 points in 2 games. That is pretty impressive.

For my other picks.. Fuzion let me down and Rezurection did exactly what their name suggests and rose from two bad losses to put it to Fuzion and give them their first loss. I don't know what the score was from the Untouchables/Jumpoff game but I know that Jumpoff is 0-3 and Untouchables are 3-1. And lastly, All-Money beat Revolution to get back to .500. I heard it was a decent winning margin but that Revolution was short on players. Regardless a win is a win and in all honesty as long as you make it in the playoffs any of these teams have a shot.

On to the games of the week...By the way Mike, on one hand it is nice to get the games out of the way but 8:30 is way early man!

8:30 am: LBH2 (3-0) vs Untouchables (3-1): Great potential match-up here. LBH2 was off last week and the Untouchables got to 3-1. LBH2 has big wins against Jacked Up (only 1 game so far) and Rezurection. Untouchables knocked off the Victors and Money but lost to Fuzion. This will be a barn burner I feel. Who ever gets a stop or two will win this one.
Prediction: 35-32 (Untouchables)

9:45 am: No Response (1-3) vs Jumpoff (0-3): I don't like to pick my own games.. so I will leave my prediction out. We have a new QB who has been coming into his own. We have put up some decent points and have given up about the same. Jumpoff looks to have gone a similar route facing Revolution, LBH2, and Untouchables. That is a tough schedule and you can never sleep on Babe and his patented look off passes. This will be a good game...mostly because we both need wins to stay in the playoff hunt.

11:00 am: There are two good games in this slot: Jacked Up (0-1) vs Rezurection (2-2) & Revolution (2-1) vs Fuzion (2-1)... don't know which one to go with so I will be brief. Jacked Up is coming off a short vacation... will the weekends at the beach have an effect? Not on Khalid that is for sure.
Revolution and Fuzion are both coming off humbling losses. This is the point in the season where Fuzion decides whether those first two wins where a fluke because teams were sleeping on them or whether they're legit. Nocar is back at the helm this season for Revolution and if his team mates are on time they are a tough bunch.
Predictions: (Jacked Up: 28-22) (Revolution: 35-21)

12:15 pm: All-Money (2-2) vs Mayhem (2-1)...I don't want to pick anymore Mayhem games if they won't have a QB all the time but it was this or the (0-2) Circus Show vs the (0-1) Underdogs (Semi-pro).. Put it this way, if Scott shows up this week it will be a decent game. Likely with Money capitalizing on their momentum to squeak one out... no Scott and Mayhem will start to hope they win enough to stay in the top 4 of their divison.
Prediction: *28-24 (Money) *If Scott shows up

Some final thoughts... the North division is evening up with three 2-1 teams, two .500 teams and Jacked Up with some games to play. The South division is shaping up a little more distinctively with the only undefeated team left and a team at 3-1, 2-1, 1-3, and two 0-3 teams. In the South this week will start to determine the teams in the playoffs while in the North this weeks inter-division games will start to change some of the rankings. A great season so far. Good luck to all the teams this weekend and I will post again next week.

P.S. If you like the uniforms that the Victors, Fuzion and Revolution are wearing this season and want some more information. Drop me a line and I can answer any of your questions.
